Inclusiv'Day forum promotes practical disability inclusion

The 10th edition of Inclusiv'Day was held in Paris, focusing on moving disability inclusion from intention to practical application, particularly within the workplace. The event featured immersive simulations, such as virtual reality headsets designed to mimic visual impairments and adaptive surfing, to help participants better understand the daily challenges faced by people with disabilities.

Key figures at the event included Camille Galliard-Minier, Minister Delegate for Autonomy and People with Disabilities, and high-level para-athletes like parasurfer Lou Méchiche and Paralympic bronze medalist Esteban Herrault. The forum brought together politicians, businesses, and associations to discuss innovation in employment and accessibility.

In a related regional effort, the city of Brive is advancing its 2022 disability project. Having already engaged in 31 of 34 planned actions, the city has invested over 10 million euros since 2020 to improve the accessibility of municipal buildings. Local officials emphasized that true progress involves not only physical adaptations, such as audible bus stops and subtitled council meetings, but also evolving social attitudes and practices.
