Inclusive sporting events held for people with disabilities in the Netherlands
Various inclusive sporting events have been organized in the Netherlands to encourage participation for children and individuals with disabilities.
In Zeewolde, a community day was held at the local athletics track, bringing together children with and without disabilities. The program featured a variety of creative and physical activities, including coloring frisbees, sandpit activities, bubble blowing, and introductions to pickleball.
In Oosterhout, the Uniek Sporten Dag was hosted by the Scorpio athletics club. Organized in collaboration with MOOVE Oosterhout, the event allowed visitors to explore different sports in a low-threshold environment. Local sports clubs participated to demonstrate available opportunities for people with disabilities to find activities that suit their specific needs and levels.
