Inclusive sports and leisure events held in coastal Brazil
Various inclusive events were held along the coast of São Paulo, Brazil, to promote accessibility and social integration for people with disabilities.
In Bertioga, the 22nd edition of the inclusive outing organized by Onda BGF – Praia Acessível took place at Enseada Beach. The event provided families from Ribeirão Pires and other regions with access to amphibious chairs, adapted boards, and assisted sea bathing. Local officials emphasized that guaranteeing accessibility is essential for ensuring the right to leisure and social coexistence.
Simultaneously, the “Inclusão em Movimento” festival was held at Perequê-Açu Beach in Ubatuba. The event brought together 224 participants for a morning of adapted sports, including adapted surfing, Hawaiian canoeing, athletics, jiu-jitsu, banana boat, and seated volleyball. The festival, organized through partnerships between local education, health, and sports secretariats, included participants from various associations such as APAE and APEAU.
