Income Tax Department announces 82 sports quota vacancies

The Income Tax Department has announced 82 vacancies for meritorious sportspersons within the West Bengal and Sikkim Region. The recruitment drive includes 25 positions for Tax Assistant (TA) and 57 for Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) across 17 recognized sports disciplines.

To be eligible for the Tax Assistant role, candidates must be graduates, while Multi-Tasking Staff positions require a minimum of a Class 10 education. Age limits are set between 18–27 years for Tax Assistants and 18–25 years for Multi-Tasking Staff.

Applications must be submitted offline via post, speed post, registered post, or courier to the Office of the Joint Commissioner of Income Tax in Kolkata. The deadline for applications to reach the designated office is September 30, 2026. The selection process will involve sports-based shortlisting, document verification, field tests, and medical examinations.
