Ipea unveils updated Inclua anti‑racism platform; Itabira to open Casa da Igualdade Racial
The Institute of Applied Economic Research (Ipea) has launched a new version of the Inclua platform, a set of pro‑equity resources for public policy. The update adds a "Temáticas" tab with diagnostic tools for racial exclusion, an artificial‑intelligence assistant to help draft action plans, and a "Coleção Gestão Pública Antirracista" of guidance materials. Coordinated by Roberto Pires of Ipea in partnership with the Ministry of Racial Equality, Inclua is intended for all levels of Brazil’s public administration—federal, state, municipal and even private firms serving the state—to identify and mitigate discriminatory barriers in service delivery. The platform, first created in 2022, remains dynamic, with a tutorial for autonomous use and a channel for user feedback.
In Minas Gerais, the municipality of Itabira will inaugurate the state’s first Casa da Igualdade Racial on 30 June. The centre will offer psychological, social and legal assistance to victims of racism and will host cultural and educational programmes. Itabira was highlighted at the national launch of Inclua for its role in the pilot phase, where local officials applied the platform’s tools to assess and improve municipal policies. Minister of Racial Equality Rachel Barros praised the town’s experience as a model for inclusive governance.
