Indaiatuba establishes regulatory sandbox for technology testing
Mayor Dr. Custódio Tavares has sanctioned Law No. 8.576/2026, establishing the Indaiatuba Sandbox Program in Brazil. This initiative creates a regulatory experimental environment designed to test new technologies and solutions for public services under controlled and monitored conditions.
The program allows companies, startups, research institutions, and public agencies to pilot innovative solutions in real-world settings before large-scale implementation. Potential applications include traffic monitoring, energy consumption reduction in public buildings, waste collection efficiency, and the use of artificial intelligence to improve municipal services. The goal is to use concrete data to evaluate the viability and benefits of these technologies before permanent adoption.
