Indaiatuba to build new hemodialysis center with 188% capacity increase

The city of Indaiatuba will construct a new Hemodialysis Reference Center to significantly expand local treatment capacity. With an investment of R$ 9.8 million from municipal resources, the project aims to increase the number of treatment chairs from 26 to 75, representing a 188% increase in capacity.

The new facility is expected to serve up to 480 patients per month, performing 6,240 monthly sessions. This expansion will allow the service to operate in three shifts, eliminating the emergency fourth shift that currently runs into the early morning hours. The project also seeks to reduce the need for residents to travel to other cities for treatment.

In addition to dialysis machines, the center will feature a specialized Water Treatment and Distribution System (STDAH) for purification. The structure will include multidisciplinary spaces for nutrition, psychology, and social services, as well as specialized areas for patients with HIV+ or HBsAg+ status. The construction is planned to be completed within 15 months, located next to the Centro Escola de Especialidades Médicas.
