Inde Navarrette discusses playing Rogue in MCU X-Men reboot

Actress Inde Navarrette has discussed her commitment to portraying the character Rogue in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) X-Men reboot. Navarrette, known for her roles in ‘Obsession’ and ‘13 Reasons Why’, stated in an interview with the LA Times that she is “doing everything humanly possible” to do the character justice.

To prepare for the role, Navarrette has been studying the character's history and is working to master Rogue’s specific Mississippi accent. She noted her personal connection to Southern culture, having spent much of her life in Texas, and expressed a desire to honor the character for the director, Jake Schrieier, and the existing fanbase.

The X-Men reboot is expected to follow ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’, which is set to reset the MCU continuity. Navarrette succeeds previous live-action portrayals of Rogue, such as Anna Paquin, as the film seeks to re-establish the mutant team within the cinematic universe.
