Inde Navarrette to star in Apple Original Films thriller ‘The Waffle House Index’

Actress Inde Navarrette has been cast to star in the upcoming sci-fi thriller ‘The Waffle House Index,’ a project acquired by Apple Original Films. Following her breakout performance in the horror film ‘Obsession,’ Navarrette will also serve as an executive producer on this venture.

Directed by Louis Paxton and written by Andrew Nunnelly, the film’s screenplay was featured on the 2025 Black List. The plot follows a waitress working a graveyard shift whose night escalates from a confrontation with an armed stranger into a series of extreme events, including flash floods, crocodile attacks, a nuclear explosion, and the presence of aliens.

The film’s title is inspired by the real-world ‘Waffle House Index,’ an informal barometer used by emergency officials to gauge the severity of natural disasters based on the operational status of the restaurant chain. Plan B Entertainment, the production company led by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner, will produce the film.
