Inde Navarrette Pursues Mystique Role in Marvel's X‑Men Reboot

Inde Navarrette, the 25‑year‑old breakout star of the horror film Obsession, told Variety’s Up Next podcast that she recently met with Jake Schreier, the director of Marvel’s upcoming X‑Men movie, and expressed a strong desire to portray the mutant shapeshifter Mystique.

The meeting comes as Marvel prepares to re‑introduce the X‑Men franchise into the MCU following the Secret Wars storyline. Navarrette’s interest has been reported by outlets in the United States, Brazil, Spain, Mexico and India, and while an opinion column suggested other actresses might better match the character’s silhouette, the casting decision remains under consideration.
