Independence Youth Organization holds nationwide commemorative program in Morocco

The Independence Youth Organization, the youth wing of the Istiqlal Party, launched a nationwide program on August 20 and 21 to commemorate the Revolution of the King and the People and celebrate Youth Day. Under the slogan ‘Youth carries the memory of their nation... and builds its future,’ the organization mobilized its executive office and various structures across different provinces of Morocco to host dozens of youth meetings.

The initiative aimed to transform these national commemorations into platforms for training, dialogue, and listening to young people. Discussions focused on connecting historical memory—specifically the 1953 struggle for independence led by King Mohammed V—with contemporary challenges.

Key topics addressed during the meetings included territorial integrity, economic and food sovereignty, water and energy security, and technological advancement. Participants also engaged in debates regarding modern socio-economic issues such as artificial intelligence, digitalization, remote work, employment difficulties, housing, and the relationship between youth and political institutions.
