The New/Next Film Festival returns to Baltimore from October 1 to October 4, 2026. Hosted at The Charles Theatre, the festival features over 160 films, including six world premieres and five North American premieres. The program includes more than 30 emerging titles and over 100 short films. The opening night film, ‘Eternity One’, is a Baltimore-made documentary about a Chesapeake Bay island community, featuring an original score by the band Beach House.

In Wales, the International Film Festival of Wales returns to Wrexham for its third year. Scheduled for October 3 at the Odeon, the event focuses on independent cinema through curated short film screenings. The festival includes Q&A sessions with cast and crew, an awards ceremony, and an after-party at Vault 33. Organizers aim to use the festival as a gateway for young people to connect with the film industry.
