Independent gas station owners protest at Mol headquarters

Members of the Association of Independent Gas Stations (FBSZ) held a demonstration in front of the Mol Group headquarters to protest economic conditions affecting small-scale fuel retailers. Protesters, including station owners and employees, expressed concerns that the current wholesale pricing structures and market dominance of large networks make it increasingly difficult for independent, family-owned businesses to remain profitable.

The demonstrators are calling for a return to market-based principles and are requesting that Mol act as a partner in reducing the brutal impact of fuel price fluctuations. While some industry sources suggest a 15 HUF per liter increase in margins could be acceptable, the FBSZ indicates that such stability might also be achievable through tax reductions.

The outcome of these demands could impact consumers; for a family consuming 200 liters of fuel monthly, a 15 HUF per liter increase would result in an additional 3,000 HUF monthly expense. Mol Group stated in a prior communication that they consider constructive professional dialogue to be important.
