Independent Media Body opens CEO search for MTI

The Independent Media Body (FKT) has launched an open call for candidates to fill the position of CEO at Magyar Távirati Iroda (MTI) Nonprofit Zrt. The initiative aims to select a leader capable of restoring the professional credibility and public trust of the news agency while eliminating previous political dependencies.

Candidates must possess a university degree, a clean criminal record, at least ten years of professional experience, and five years of leadership experience. The selection process involves individual evaluations by FKT members based on a scoring system. To ensure transparency, the hearings will be broadcast live on the FKT website.

Representatives from the MTI Journalists' Union and the Chair of the Public Service Council may participate in the hearings in a consultative capacity. The voting process will occur in two rounds, with the first round determining suitability and the second round selecting between the top two candidates.
