Independent Metal and Punk Releases Surge in July 2026
A wave of new music was released at the end of July 2026, spanning heavy metal, punk, synth‑pop and other independent styles. German metal act Finsterforst issued the album "Still" on AOP Records, while Horrid Massdrop, Disfiguring The Goddess, Anatomy of Habit, Tabernakel and Nothingness each launched new releases across black metal, death‑doom and industrial‑noise territories.
In Australia, a diverse set of indie and punk artists put out fresh tracks: Melbourne noise‑punk group MILKSICK debuted "The Walls Have Ears"; local garage‑rock outfit Mumdeathcake issued "It’s Not A Race"; Merimbula’s Petrol Bomb released the aggressive single "Witch Hunt"; and other acts such as Back By Unpopular Demand, Leo Devenny‑Schneider, Coppola and Painter, Emma and The Wayfarer, Gilli & The Fishies and Honey Bastien delivered new songs covering synth‑pop, country, rock and alternative sounds.
