Independent music festivals held in Cuenca and Aysén
The ninth edition of the musical cycle ‘Malos Tiempos para la Lírica: Radiografía del panorama musical independiente’ will take place in Cuenca, Spain, starting October 1. Organized by Babylon Festival, the event features a mix of educational conferences and live music sessions. Notable participants include singer-songwriter María Rozalén and Julián Hernández, founder of Siniestro Total. The program also includes discussions on gender asymmetry in the local music scene by the duo Her Itage.
In Chile, the eleventh season of ‘The Dark Side of the Sur’ recently concluded at the Museo Regional de Aysén. The initiative, driven by Malotún Ortiga, integrated live music, visual arts, and conversation. Performers included Pedropiedra, Celeste Anacletxx, and the group Intiwayna. The final session was rescheduled due to local health authority recommendations regarding respiratory viruses.
