Independiente signs Nahuel Banegas on loan from Tigre

Independiente has reached an agreement to sign left-back Nahuel Banegas from Tigre. The 29-year-old defender will join the Avellaneda-based club on a 15-month loan, with a contract running until December 2027. The deal includes an option for Tigre to recall the player in January 2026.

This late addition was made possible through a special transfer window slot granted by the AFA following a serious ligament injury to youth player Joel Medina. Banegas is expected to provide depth for the left-back position, competing with Facundo Zabalá and Jonathan De Irastorza.

As the club prepares for its upcoming match against Instituto, manager Jadson Viera is also managing several squad fitness concerns. While Banegas is a new arrival, the team is monitoring the recovery of players like Juan Miguel Arrayago and assessing the availability of Facundo Zabalá and Ezequiel Ávila.
