Independiente del Valle targets records in Liga Pro and women's final

Independiente del Valle (IDV) enters a pivotal week in Ecuadorian football. In the Liga Pro, the league leaders aim to extend their winning streak to 12 consecutive matches during matchday 27 against Universidad Católica. IDV currently holds a 23-point lead over second-place Aucas. The club is also preparing for a high-stakes Copa Libertadores quarter-final against Flamengo, which will be hosted at the Olímpico Atahualpa stadium in Quito to accommodate more fans.

In women’s football, Dragonas Independiente del Valle is on the verge of a historic achievement. Holding a 2-0 lead from the first leg, they face Guerreras Albas in the Superliga Femenina final. A victory would secure a third consecutive title for the club. Both finalists have already qualified for the 2026 Copa Libertadores Femenina, which will be hosted in Ecuador.

Additionally, IDV's youth development continues to gain attention, with players like Juan Riquelme Angulo expressing ambitions to represent the Ecuadorian national team and play in top European leagues.
