Santa Fe and Olimpia advance to Libertadores Femenina semifinals

Independiente Santa Fe of Colombia and Olimpia of Paraguay have secured spots in the semifinals of the 2026 Copa Libertadores Femenina.

Santa Fe advanced after a dramatic penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw against Brazil's Palmeiras in Quito, Ecuador. While Palmeiras took an early lead through Brena Carolina and Raissa Bahia, Santa Fe fought back with goals from Mariana Zamorano and Juana Ortegón. Goalkeeper Jimena Ospina played a decisive role in the shootout, saving a penalty to seal the victory.

Olimpia achieved a historic qualification by defeating Deportivo Cali 1-0 in their quarterfinal match. The game was marked by a 30-minute delay due to a storm before Lujan Ortiz scored the winning goal in the 91st minute following an error by Cali's goalkeeper, Mary Sánchez. Olimpia will face the winner of the match between Cruzeiro and Libertad in the semifinals.
