Independência prepares for Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior

Independência has begun preparations for the 2027 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior. The club currently has 34 players registered, though coach Kinho Brito intends to finalize a 25-man roster for the competition.

To prepare, the club has established a partnership with Atlético Assisense in São Paulo. The team will relocate to Assis approximately one month before the tournament begins to finalize training, a move that includes the loan of eight players from the São Paulo-based club. Additionally, Independência will receive goalkeeper Thiago Matias on loan from Corinthians.

However, the squad faces a setback with midfielder Kauã ruled out of the tournament. Following a knee injury sustained during the State Championship, an MRI confirmed that the player requires surgery, removing him from the group of 35 players initially called for training.
