Carlos Salcido leads INDEREQ soccer clinic in San Juan del Río
The second edition of the INDEREQ Soccer Clinic has launched in San Juan del Río, Querétaro. Inaugurated by Governor Mauricio Kuri González at the Unidad Deportiva Norte, the event features former professional footballer Carlos Salcido.
Approximately 200 children between the ages of 10 and 14 are participating in the two-day program. The clinic focuses on developing physical, technical, and tactical skills while promoting values such as leadership, discipline, and teamwork. Iridia Salazar Blanco, head of the Querétaro Institute of Sport and Recreation (INDEREQ), noted that Salcido’s presence aims to motivate young athletes by providing them with a professional role model.
Salcido, an Olympic gold medalist from the 2012 London Games and a three-time World Cup participant, brings extensive international experience from clubs in Mexico, the Netherlands, and England. This follows a previous edition of the clinic held in July 2026, which featured former player Oribe Peralta.
