Index launches fifth edition of “Huellas de mi Quisqueya” film contest

The Institute of Dominicans and Dominican Women Abroad (Index) has launched the fifth edition of the “Huellas de mi Quisqueya” short film contest. The initiative aims to promote the audiovisual talent of Dominicans living abroad by encouraging them to share stories regarding their experiences, customs, and connections to the Dominican Republic.

Ambassador Celinés Toribio, Vice Minister for Dominican Communities Abroad and Executive Director of Index, stated that the contest provides a platform for the diaspora to share their unique perspectives on Dominican identity. Previous editions of the competition have attracted more than 300 participants from 35 different countries.

Interested participants must be 18 years or older, of Dominican nationality or descent, and have resided outside the Dominican Republic for at least one year with legal migratory status. The deadline for registration is November 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. local Dominican time.
