Index Ventures raises $2 billion for new venture funds
Index Ventures announced it has secured a total of $2 billion in new capital across three distinct funds. The allocation includes a $400 million seed fund, a $900 million venture fund and a $700 million addition to its growth fund, which was launched in 2024 with $1.5 billion already committed. With the new inflows, the firm’s total available capital now stands at $3.5 billion.
The firm, which has a 30‑year track record, highlighted recent exits such as the sale of cybersecurity company Wiz to Alphabet for $32 billion, where Index Ventures remains the largest external shareholder with a 12 percent stake valued at roughly $3.8 billion. It also cited its early investment in design‑software platform Figma, which went public in 2023. Index Ventures said the fundraising reflects a disciplined approach that avoids excessive fund inflation while supporting startups from seed through growth stages.
