India A and New Zealand A play to a draw in unofficial Test

The first unofficial Test between India A and New Zealand A at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln ended in a draw after fading light prevented a conclusion. Despite a massive second-innings total from India A, New Zealand A survived to finish at 187/9.

India A faced a significant recovery after being dismissed for just 113 in their first innings, trailing New Zealand A's 317 by 204 runs. Devdutt Padikkal led the comeback with a standout 199, supported by Sai Sudharsan (91), Yash Rathod (66), and Washington Sundar (52). India A eventually posted 516 in their second innings, setting New Zealand A a target of 313.

In the final innings, Indian pacer Auqib Nabi dismantled the New Zealand A top order, reducing them to 13/3 with figures of 3/28. However, Curtis Heaphy remained unbeaten on 90, and Jayden Lennox provided support to help the hosts navigate the difficult conditions. Umpires halted play due to bad light with 17 to 18 overs remaining in the day.
