India adds four spin bowlers as net bowlers for Sri Lanka Test

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that spin bowlers Harsh Dubey, Shivang Kumar, Tanush Kotian and Vipraj Nigam have been taken on as net bowlers to aid India's preparation for the opening Test against Sri Lanka. The first match begins on 15 August at Galle International Stadium, followed by a second Test in Colombo later in the month.

Dubey, a slow left‑arm orthodox who debuted in ODIs against Afghanistan, and Kumar, a left‑arm wrist spinner, have both featured in the Indian Premier League. Kotian, a right‑arm off‑spinner from Mumbai, and Nigam, a right‑arm leg‑spinner who played for Delhi Capitals, have been prominent in domestic cricket and India A assignments. Their role is to give Indian batsmen extra practice against spin ahead of the spin‑friendly Sri Lankan conditions.
