India and Bangladesh discuss strengthening bilateral ties and connectivity

Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Dinesh Trivedi, has engaged in a series of high-level meetings in Dhaka to strengthen bilateral relations between India and Bangladesh. During a courtesy call on Bangladesh President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, both parties emphasized the importance of a partnership based on mutual trust, sovereignty, and shared history.

Diplomatic discussions have covered several key areas of cooperation, including connectivity in shipping and railways, water resource management, and environmental protection. Trivedi also proposed resuming public administration training exchanges and skill development programs between the two nations.

Further meetings were held with Bangladeshi ministers to discuss cultural cooperation, wildlife conservation, and people-to-people ties. The discussions highlighted the potential for expanded collaboration in sectors such as technology, energy, and heritage conservation.
