Indian and French officials met in New Delhi to strengthen bilateral cooperation in education, research, and space technology. French Minister for Higher Education, Research and Space Philippe Baptiste led a delegation to discuss expanding student and faculty mobility, institutional partnerships, and joint research initiatives.
Key discussions included the advancement of the Mutual Recognition of Qualifications Agreement and collaborations through programs such as SPARC and GIAN. The proposed establishment of an IIT campus in Nice was also a point of interest. Both nations are looking toward the ‘India-France Year of Innovation 2026’ as a platform to deepen academic and research linkages.
In the scientific sector, Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh highlighted the evolution of India-France space cooperation, which has grown from 1960s sounding rocket experiments to modern joint satellite missions and human spaceflight.
