India and Greenland discuss mining and Arctic research cooperation
India’s Ambassador to Denmark, Manish Prabhat, met with Greenland’s Parliament Speaker, Kim Marius Kielsen, in Nuuk to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation. The discussions focused on several key sectors, including mining investments, cultural exchanges, and the mobility of a skilled workforce for the healthcare and hospitality industries.
In addition to economic and labor discussions, Ambassador Prabhat held deliberations regarding India’s potential involvement in polar scientific research. These talks included meetings with Greenland’s Permanent Secretary of Environment, Nature, Energy and Research, Natuk Lund Meire, to explore collaborations between Indian and Greenlandic research institutions.
As part of a cultural outreach initiative titled ‘Namaste Greenland,’ the diplomatic mission also organized events featuring Yoga and Ayurveda presentations at GUX Nuuk High School to promote cultural ties.
