India and Israel deepen defence partnership with new long‑range missiles

Israel Aerospace Industries and Elbit Systems are supplying the Indian Air Force with a suite of advanced stand‑off weapons, including the Air LORA ballistic missile (range over 400 km, Mach 5 speed), the Rampage air‑to‑surface missile (250 km range), Rafael’s SPICE precision‑guided bomb kits and the low‑observable Ice Breaker cruise missile. The missiles have been integrated onto Su‑30MKI, MiG‑29, Jaguar and the domestically developed Tejas fighters, and India is weighing local production under its “Make in India” programme.

In June 2026, Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram, Director General of the Israel Ministry of Defence, led a high‑level delegation to New Delhi, meeting the Indian Defence Minister, Defence Secretary and Chief of Defence Staff. The talks focused on expanding bilateral defence and industrial cooperation, underscoring the strategic importance both countries place on the partnership.
