India and Japan debunk viral claims of 50 million Hindu settlement pact

Social media claims falsely alleging that India and Japan signed a contract to allow 50 million Hindus to settle in Japan have been debunked.

Actual bilateral agreements between the two nations focus on strategic partnerships and human resource cooperation. Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Japanese counterpart Shinjiro Koizumi recently signed a memorandum of arrangement regarding maritime security to ensure cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

Furthermore, a separate action plan for human resource cooperation involves a two-way exchange of 500,000 personnel over five years, which includes 50,000 skilled workers, students, and researchers. This agreement does not specify religious affiliations, nor does it mandate long-term settlement or the movement of 50 million people.
