India and Kuwait discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation

Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, met with Kuwait’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Osama Khaled Abdullah Bodai, to discuss strengthening bilateral ties. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in trade, industry, and economic sectors, with a specific emphasis on food security and supply chain resilience.

This diplomatic engagement follows a recent visit by Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to Kuwait. During his visit, Jaishankar met with high-level Kuwaiti officials, including the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister, and the Defense Minister, to review strategic partnerships in energy, defense, technology, and maritime security, while also addressing the welfare of the Indian diaspora.

Additionally, the growing role of India’s Global Capability Centers (GCCs) has been highlighted as a potential bridge for business between India and the Gulf region. These centers, which specialize in advanced fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and semiconductor technology, offer opportunities for Gulf-based companies to build international capabilities through India’s professional workforce.
