India and Malaysia strengthen cooperation on governance and public administration

India and Malaysia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in public administration, governance reforms, and capacity building during the second meeting of their Joint Working Group. The discussions focused on expanding institutional collaboration and enhancing training through the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation programme, with Malaysia expressing interest in specialized programs for senior officials.

Both nations exchanged expertise on public sector modernization and digital governance. Malaysia highlighted its ‘People, Process and Technology’ approach, emphasizing the roles of artificial intelligence, cloud services, cybersecurity, and blockchain in government services. India showcased its Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) and its AI-enabled voice chatbot, ‘Samadhan Didi’, which was launched in May 2026 to provide multilingual and accessible grievance redressal for citizens.
