India and Mongolia conclude 18th Nomadic Elephant military exercise

The 18th edition of Exercise Nomadic Elephant, a joint military drill between the Indian and Mongolian armies, concluded on October 3 in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The exercise, which ran from September 20 to October 3, was designed to enhance interoperability, strengthen mutual understanding, and promote defense cooperation between the two nations.

The exercise was conducted in three distinct phases. The first phase focused on integration and familiarization with operational procedures. The second phase involved joint training and tactical combat drills, while the final phase served as a validation exercise to test the capabilities developed during the training.

Training activities covered a broad spectrum of modern warfare skills, including tactical operations, intelligence and surveillance, heliborne operations, and casualty management. Additionally, troops practiced specialized skills such as drone employment, marksmanship, and cyber security.
