India and New Zealand esports federations draft cooperation agreement
The Esports Federation of India (ESFI) and the New Zealand Esports Federation Incorporated (NZ Esports) have drafted a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation between the two nations. The agreement seeks to establish a framework for knowledge exchange, shared learning, and practical collaboration within their respective esports communities.
The initiative was announced during the ‘100 Years of Unity Through Sport’ centenary programme in Auckland, which celebrates a century of sporting ties between India and New Zealand. The program includes various disciplines such as cricket, football, and esports.
NZ Esports CEO Jonathan Jansen noted that esports provides a modern way to build upon the historical connection established by sports like cricket, offering opportunities for young people to compete and share cultures. The MoU proceedings included representatives from NZ Esports and Sport NZ.
