India defeats Pakistan by seven wickets in Women’s Asia Cup
In the Women’s Asia Cup 2026, India secured a dominant seven-wicket victory over Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan was bowled out for just 55 runs in 18.1 overs, marking their lowest-ever total in Women’s T20 Internationals. Indian spinners Shree Charani and Prema Rawat led the attack, taking three wickets each.
Chasing the target of 56, India reached the score in 8.4 overs despite early setbacks that saw them slip to 29 for three. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur (18* not out) and Deepti Sharma (12* not out) anchored the successful chase.
Individual milestones were reached during the match: Shafali Verma became the youngest player to score 3,000 T20I runs, achieving the feat at 22 years and 220 days. Additionally, Harmanpreet Kaur became the first player, male or female, to captain in 150 T20I matches. With this win, India remains undefeated in the group stage and has secured a place in the semifinals.
