India and Russia conclude INDRA 2026 naval exercises
The Indian Navy and the Russian Federation Navy have successfully completed the INDRA 2026 bilateral naval exercises. The drills were conducted in two phases, beginning with a harbour phase in Vladivostok and concluding with a sea phase designed to enhance operational coordination, interoperability, and professional collaboration.
During the sea phase, participating units engaged in coordinated manoeuvring, integrated communications drills, helicopter operations, and medical evacuation procedures. The exercises aimed to refine joint operating procedures and improve the ability of both navies to work together during maritime missions.
Following the exercises, three vessels from the Russian Pacific Fleet—the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, the anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs, and the tanker Pechenga—arrived in Kochi, India, for a goodwill visit. During this visit, Russian Rear Admiral Evgeny Myasoyedov met with Indian Navy Rear Admiral Prakash Gopalan, Chief of Staff of the Southern Naval Command, to further discuss maritime cooperation and the ongoing defense partnership between the two nations.
