India conducts naval exercises in Philippines and with Sri Lanka

India is conducting multiple maritime engagements to strengthen regional security and interoperability in the Indo-Pacific.

In the Philippines, Indian Naval Ships Sahyadri and Kulish arrived at Subic Bay to participate in the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM)-Plus Joint Cooperation Activity. This deployment aligns with India’s Act East Policy and MAHASAGAR vision, aiming to enhance maritime cooperation and professional linkages between India and the Philippines following their recent strategic partnership.

Simultaneously, India and Sri Lanka are conducting the 13th edition of the SLINEX-26 bilateral naval exercise in Visakhapatnam. The exercise, which runs from September 17 to 21, involves the Sri Lankan Naval Ship Sindurala and Indian vessels INS Kavaratti and INS Jyoti. The drills include a Harbour Phase focused on professional exchanges and a Sea Phase designed to enhance operational synergy and maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region.
