India and Sri Lanka conclude SLINEX-26 maritime exercise

The Indian and Sri Lankan navies have concluded the 13th edition of the SLINEX-26 maritime exercise, which took place in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

In New Delhi, Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the 9th India International Water Week (IIWW) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam. Organized by the Ministry of Jal Shakti, the event focuses on ‘Climate Resilient Water Management’ and runs from September 22 to 26. The week includes the Second International WASH Conference, addressing sanitation infrastructure and water security.

Additionally, India has implemented its first farm-level soil carbon payments in Punjab and Haryana. Through the ‘Aadi’ farmer carbon programme, over 2,550 smallholder farmers received more than Rs. 2.9 crore for utilizing verified regenerative agricultural practices.
