India and UAE army chiefs meet to deepen defence cooperation

Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi met on June 26 with UAE Army Deputy Commander Brigadier General Mohammed Khamis Mohammed Al‑Hasani in New Delhi. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen defence ties under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, discussed expanding professional exchanges, joint exercises and new avenues of cooperation, and welcomed the forthcoming Letter of Intent on Strategic Defense Partnership. The meeting follows the UAE President’s state visit to India in January and prior visits by senior Indian military officials.

The joint statement highlighted the continuity of growing security collaboration and the shared goal of regional stability.
