India and Ukraine reaffirm commitment to bilateral ties on Ukraine's Independence Day

Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar extended greetings to Ukraine on its Independence Day, expressing optimism regarding the deepening of bilateral partnerships between New Delhi and Kyiv. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha responded by thanking Jaishankar and affirming a commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two nations.

Recent diplomatic engagements include a meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in June, where leaders discussed restoring trade to pre-war levels and expanding economic ties. India has also emphasized the importance of dialogue, diplomacy, and maritime security, specifically condemning attacks on commercial shipping and Indian seafarers in the Black Sea.

In New Delhi, the Ukrainian Embassy and the local Ukrainian community marked the 35th anniversary of the restoration of Ukraine's independence. The event was led by Charge d'Affaires Artem Nosko and Maryna Akram, Head of the Ukrainian Community in India.
