India and United States deepen defence ties at Hawaii Army-to-Army talks

India and the United States held the 29th Army-to-Army Staff Talks in Hawaii, co‑chaired by Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai of the Indian Army and Lieutenant General Joel Vowell of the U.S. Army Pacific. The meetings focused on strengthening bilateral defence cooperation, improving interoperability, expanding professional exchanges and deepening collaboration to support shared security interests in the Indo‑Pacific region.

The talks reaffirmed the commitment to the India‑US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership. They followed a series of high‑level engagements, including Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh’s meeting with U.S. Congressman Pat Harrigan in Singapore and a May 24 dialogue between U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio and India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on defence, security and the TRUST strategic‑technology initiative.
