India appoints several IPS officers as Special Director Generals

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved several high-level appointments for Indian Police Service (IPS) officers to Special Director General positions within central paramilitary forces.

Rajesh Kumar, a 1995-batch officer with extensive experience in Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed as Special Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). His tenure is set for two years from the date he assumes charge or until further orders.

Padmakar S Ranipse, a 1995-batch officer from the Odisha cadre, has been appointed as Special Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). He will hold this position until his superannuation on May 31, 2028, or until further orders.

Other appointments approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs include Sandeep Khirwar as Special Director General of the CRPF and Puneet Rastogi and Satish Shriramaji Khandare as Special Director Generals of the Border Security Force (BSF).
