Police in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district arrested a long‑time fugitive wanted for an attempted murder, seizing the knife used in the crime and sending the suspect to judicial custody. In Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi district, investigators detained a 19‑year‑old cousin, Ashik Ahirwar, who confessed to killing his 15‑year‑old relative, Ankita, over a wage‑pay dispute, later discarding the body in a village well.
