India: August 2026 Solar and Lunar Eclipses Not Visible Locally, Astrological Forecasts Released

A total solar eclipse will occur on 12 August 2026, visible from parts of Europe, Greenland, Iceland and Russia, but it will not be seen in India. A partial lunar eclipse follows on 28 August 2026, also visible in several regions worldwide, yet absent from the Indian sky.

Indian astrologers note that, despite the eclipses not being observable locally, the positions of the Sun, Moon, Rahu and Ketu are said to influence all zodiac signs. Specific advice is given for Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces, urging caution in financial and career matters for some signs. They also state that the traditional "sūtak" period does not apply in India, so religious rites and daily activities may continue without restriction.
