India auto component industry targets $200 billion turnover by FY30

India’s automotive component industry is aiming for a turnover of $200 billion by fiscal year 2030. According to a joint report by Boston Consulting Group and the Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (BCG-ACMA), the sector has grown at a 17 per cent compound annual growth rate over the last decade, reaching $86 billion in FY26.

To reach this target, industry leaders emphasize the need for resilience against raw material costs, energy fluctuations, labor shortages, and demand volatility. While 90 per cent of industry leaders believe they are positioned well, 78 per cent noted that business has become riskier than in previous years.

On the export front, India’s auto-component exports reached approximately $24.5 billion, representing a 7 per cent increase over the previous year. Sriram Viji, President Designate of ACMA, identified Africa as a significant emerging market for Indian manufacturers due to its large consumer base and limited local vehicle manufacturing. While exports to Europe have shown sustained growth, shipments to the US have remained steady amid trade tensions and tariff uncertainties.
