India awards service medals to Delhi Police and railway security officers

Independence Day 2026 President's Medal Delhi Police Railway Protection Force service awards

On the occasion of Independence Day 2026, the President of India conferred several service medals upon members of the Delhi Police and the railway security forces, including the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF).

In the railway sector, Rajesh Lal, Assistant Security Commissioner at the Railway Board, received the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. Additionally, 15 personnel from the RPF and RPSF were awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service for their professional commitment to protecting passengers and railway infrastructure.

Within the Delhi Police, 17 personnel were honored. This included two President’s Medals for Distinguished Service awarded to Additional Commissioner of Police Dinesh Kumar Gupta and Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar. S K Shokeen, Commandant of the Home Guards, also received the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service. Fifteen other Delhi Police members received the Medal for Meritorious Service.
