India banks operate as usual on Saturday, July 4, 2026

Banks across India, including New Delhi, will remain open on Saturday, July 4 2026. Under the Reserve Bank of India's calendar, banks close only on Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, so the first Saturday is a regular working day. All in‑branch services—cash deposits and withdrawals, cheque clearing, passbook updates, and locker operations—will be available during standard hours, and digital platforms such as mobile banking, internet banking, UPI, IMPS, ATMs and other instant transfer services will continue to operate 24/7.

The RBI also notes that some transactions, like KYC updates, joint‑account opening or closing, and certain dispute resolutions, still require a physical branch visit. State‑specific holiday lists affect only the designated holidays announced by the RBI; they do not impact the July 4 date.
