The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) announced that bank branches in several Indian states will be closed for up to four days between July 13 and July 19, 2026. Physical branches will remain shut on Thursday, July 16 in Odisha (Ratha Yatra), Uttarakhand and Manipur (Harela); on Friday, July 17 in Meghalaya (death anniversary of U Tirot Singh); and on Saturday, July 18 in Sikkim (Drukpa Tshe‑zi). All banks close nationwide on Sunday, July 19 as a regular weekly holiday, while the rest of the week (July 13‑15) operates normally.

Customers are advised to complete cash deposits, check clearances, KYC and other branch‑related work before the holidays. Digital banking services—including UPI, IMPS, mobile and internet banking, as well as ATMs—will continue uninterrupted throughout the closure period.
