India banks to close four days next week amid holidays

The Reserve Bank of India’s June 2026 holiday calendar lists four consecutive days when banking branches will be closed – June 25, 26, 27 and 28. The closures are due to the Muslim holiday of Muharram on June 25‑26, the monthly fourth Saturday on June 27 and the regular Sunday holiday on June 28. In addition, regional observances such as the Rath Yatra on June 22 will keep branches shut in specific states like Odisha, Gujarat and West Bengal.

Despite the branch shutdowns, digital banking services – including UPI, mobile and internet banking, ATMs and electronic payment platforms – will remain operational, allowing customers to continue transactions and bill payments.

Customers are advised to check the RBI holiday list for any state‑specific closures before visiting a bank branch to avoid inconvenience.
