India becomes first men's team to reach 200 T20I wins

The Indian men's cricket team has become the first team in history to achieve 200 outright wins in T20 International cricket. This milestone was reached during their 300th T20I match, a second fixture against New Zealand held at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on October 24, 2026.

India secured a four-wicket victory to take a 2-0 lead in the series. Despite falling to 70-5 during the chase of 181, the team recovered through a significant partnership between Tilak Varma and Nitish Kumar Reddy. Varma finished with an unbeaten half-century, and the pair added 69 runs in just 30 balls, setting a new record for India's highest seventh-wicket partnership in T20Is.

Across 300 matches played between 2006 and 2026, India has recorded 200 wins, 83 losses, seven ties, and 10 no-results. This performance gives them a win-loss ratio of 2.409, the highest among the top five teams with the most T20I appearances.
